The first concept to draw my attention is the concept of Affiliate Marketing. An affiliate is simply someone who is paid to bring customers or visitors to businesses selling products on the web. Is this a huge market? You bet it is. The internet is saving companies tremendous amounts of money on advertising, inventory space and other overhead costs. If you are offering a new product or service and have limited advertising and marketing budgets, selling your product through web-based affiliates seems like an excellent way to go.

The learning curve for newbies at this process is very steep. Getting started though, can be as simple as creating a blog, a Squidoo Lense, or learning article marketing.

There are literally thousands of products to promote all of whom are willing to pay affiliate commissions to drive customers to their product or service. Chances are, there will be products that you are passionate about and are interested in and want to promote.

Also, the process is fun and creative, you do not have to hold inventory, beg your friends to buy, or do any direct selling. For most, this will be a process that will build momentum slowly but the promise of building an extra income stream in your life that works 24/7 is just too good not to work at. People are doing it and having great success.

It helps to have a business in a box type of setup. There are people out there marketing very helpful step by step plans to get you going. In my opinion, this is essential. Otherwise, you could fumble around for months without achieving anything.
